Covid-19

Last updated: 9/1/21 17:09

As we face up to the current challenges of this virus, we are committed to continue to pray for our community here in Redditch and to offer Christian worship, service and pastoral care.  In doing this we are mindful of the safety of our congregation members, volunteers and all who use our churches. Please continue to check this page for updates.

Churches are open for private prayer

The Government has allowed for Churches to reopen for private prayer from the 13th June. Click below for times of opening:

Sundays & Regular Worship

Due to rising infection rates in our region we have chosen to not hold public worship at the moment.

We will provide services pre-recorded from the homes of the clergy each week on YouTube.

Weddings, Baptisms, Funerals

Weddings

Weddings are presently permitted, on the condition that a risk assessment is completed. Attendance is limited to 6 persons, including the bride, groom, 2 witnesses and the minister.

Government guidance recommends that: “Where possible, these should only take place in exceptional circumstances, for example, an urgent marriage where one of those getting married is seriously ill and not expected to recover, or is to undergo debilitating treatment or life-changing surgery.”

We are taking enquires for weddings in the future.

Baptisms

Please do enquire about Baptisms

Funerals

During this time we will continue to support your family if you find yourself mourning a loved one and desiring a Christian funeral. As you will expect there will be some changes for your safety. The number of those who are attending are limited and these limits are variable due to the different capacities of our buildings. There is a legal maximum of 30 in place

Meetings with the minister before the funeral will be organised and on a case-by-case basis we will consider the best way to meet within government guidance. This may be in person or using Zoom, Skype or telephone.

If you are organising the funeral of a loved one, we are acutely aware of what a difficult time this will be. We will do our best to explain any changes or delays which may be an inevitable consequence of the current restrictions but we are here to support you and to ensure a Christian funeral can still be provided.
